Keeping Johnson Tiles on the social media front foot

Share

Social platforms are rewarding consistency and authenticity more than ever right now. Posts that sound like an actual person wrote them, rather than a brand or a bot, are the ones cutting through. At the same time, AI is reshaping how people search and how visibility works - not just on websites but across profiles and third-party mentions too. It's a lot to keep up with and we’re always looking to support the businesses we work with to stay on the front foot.

Our long standing client, Johnson Tiles, recently came to us with an objective to optimise their social channels and ensure more employee engagement on LinkedIn and Instagram.

Instead of producing a generic checklist of things to keep up with, we built a training workshop around their team and their actual profiles. Naturally, some colleagues were more active and confident than others, so catering the content for varying degrees of capability - and social media enthusiasm (!) - was an important consideration. Introducing some light-hearted ‘quizzing’ soon warmed everyone up and using live examples from Johnson Tiles’ own social feeds made the session more relevant and engaging.

During the workshop we shared how LinkedIn and Instagram algorithms are behaving today, what genuine engagement looks like in practice and how personal profiles and employee-generated content can quietly support the bigger business goals. Since the room was full of sales and marketing people, we ensured participants came away able to leverage their own profiles for business development too.

Some of the key takeaways from the training were:

  • Personal profiles now carry more weight than company pages, so employee posts deserve real attention

  • Genuine engagement such as comments and reposts with a personal note, outperform passive ‘likes’

  • Consistency matters more than chasing the perfect posting time

Follow-up showed the training really landed, with one of the sales team recently getting in touch to say his last two posts pulled in over 2.5k impressions, plus 68 and 107 reactions respectively - both a huge jump on what he'd normally see.

Ultimately the goal was to help their team feel assured using social media and the uptick has been more active channels, fuelled by a strong case study pipeline that we’re also continuing to compile.
